MSI Roundtable on Innovation Metrics together with Peter Golder (Tuck School of Business)
Innovation management researchers have proposed a plethora of metrics for measuring the innovation process. However, innovation management practitioners appear to record and report only a tiny subset of these metrics. Often, those metrics that are used tend to focus on past performance rather than be useful for evaluating future innovation performance. Moreover, outside analysts appear to be interested in only a narrow subset of innovation metrics. As a result, firms may not be learning all they can from carefully measuring successes and failures resulting from their innovation activities.
In this roundtable workshop session, we will bring together the most comprehensive academic thinking on innovation metrics with state-of-the-art practitioners sharing their insights on and applications of innovation metrics.

SECOND EDITION OF „WARUM PRODUKTE FLOPPEN“ NOW OUT
Currently the second edition of the German Marketing bestselling book „Warum Produkte floppen“ is out at the Haufe Verlag in Munich. We are looking forward to sales development this year. The first edition has received a widespread recognition and still is one of the very few comprehensive texts that deals with the subject of new product success.
PANEL DISCUSSION ON GENDER ISSUES AT „DOUGLAS“, DÜSSELDORF
The gender discussion moves on. On March 9th I happen to be (the only male) participant on a discussion panel about the portrait of business women in the media. Looking back at all the public speeches I gave so far, I probably have never been more curious regarding the development and the outcome of the discussion.

I am happy to report that I have been appointed as an Affiliated Professor of Business Administration at the „European Business School“ (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. I will be teaching my basic and advanced course on consumer-centric new product development in the EBS Master’s Programme.

LECTURES AT RWTH ENDED, WILL STAY ON FACULTY
With a bit of personal sadness, I have ended my teaching at RWTH Aachen at the end of this semester. It has been almost 20 wonderful years with great students whom I have seriously enjoyed. Thanks to all participants in all those years and I hope you stay in touch …. I will remain on the faculty of the RWTH Business School for the next five years, though.
